CHRISTINA
CHRISTINA TERRY MURYN
A lifelong Findlay resident, Christina is devoted to continuously improving Findlay and the lives of the citizens who call Findlay home. Christina is a Republican who believes local government should not fall prey to the divisiveness of state and national politics and that good governing means considering all citizens and making the best decision for the community, not just the easy decision or the one that aligns with their opinion.
She values an efficient, effective, and transparent government. Christina insists Findlay deserves leaders who operate with civility and govern with humility. Her devotion to Findlay’s success is best exhibited through her years of community and political service, including working with the Hancock County Central Committee, the Downtown Findlay Improvement District, the Backyard Missions Trip program, the YMCA board, and at New Life Assembly of God.
Mayor Muryn has spent her private sector professional career taking on the opioid crisis by working with hospitals to develop lasting solutions that address the root of the crisis. In her role with Pain Management Group, Christina helped hospitals throughout the Midwest implement responsible solutions to acute and chronic pain. For Christina, finding solutions to complex problems is a daily activity.
Christina earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and marketing with a finance minor at the University of Findlay.
Since taking over as Mayor for the City of Findlay, Mayor Muryn has successfully led Findlay through a global pandemic, economic uncertainty, social unrest, all while maintaining a strong financial position, investing in infrastructure, safety services, and projects to improve quality of life in Findlay and Hancock County. Mayor Muryn also believes that representing the City of Findlay at the State, National, and International level is key to raising awareness of Findlay, helping shape policy, and advocating for the needs of the Findlay community.
Mayor Muryn has been recognized for her leadership and currently serves on the Ohio Mayors Alliance Board of Directors, the United States Conference of Mayors Advisory Board, and the Ohio Drug Transparency and Affordability Task Force. Mayor Muryn has also been invited to The White House under President Trump to participate in a round table discussion on housing with Dr. Ben Carson and was one of just 4 Mayors from across the country invited by the Trump Administration to attend the operation warp speed vaccine summit.
In her free time, Christina enjoys spending time with her husband, Tyler, who she met while attending the University of Findlay. The Oiler alumni couple can frequently be found at Croy Gymnasium supporting their alma mater at University of Findlay basketball games – or relaxing on their back patio with family and friends. They are also members of New Life Assembly of God, where they help lead the high school youth group and where Christina serves as a singer on the worship team.
